AAA Regional Headquarters
Virginia Beach, Virginia

Three-story 60,000-square-foot regional headquarters office building. Level one provides a common entry for the public, serving AAA's customer service center, conference and meeting spaces. A separate, secure, rear entrance provides staff access to the call center, open office work are and private offices.

The second floor houses the executive suite, including the board room, accounting, and public relations departments. The floor contains a large, divisible meeting room, with a capacity of 120 occupants. It can be sub-divided into two medium conference rooms or four small conference rooms. Adjacent kitchen and catering spaces provide food service options for the owner.

Level three was developed as future expansion space for AAA. It currently houses two tenants who access their space through the common, sun-lit, three-story glass atrium. The building design allows for a dynamic interior floor layout, which provides great flexibility for adaptable office plans.

A load-bearing precast stone system, three stories in height, provides the principle exterior enclosure. Attached to the steel frame, it was erected in less than one month. It saved 8 weeks in construction time as compared to a traditional brick veneer system. AAA won an award for Design Excellence from the City of Virginia Beach. The final cost, including change orders, was under the Owner's original budget.
