New City of Norfolk fire-rescue station to be located southeast of the intersection of Baylor Place and West Little Creek Road, across from the existing station that it will replace. Spaces include the main lobby and public entrance; apparatus bay; sleeping quarters; social spaces such as the physical fitness room, dining room, dayroom, kitchen, and associated spaces. The spaces for the apparatus and for the firefighters are brick veneer and concrete masonry boxes with gently curving steel bar joist roofs arcing overhead. The transition space is clad in aluminum storefront. Large roof overhangs provide rain cover and solar control.
